Marco and I recently celebrated our 13th anniversary (wow!).
He got me a cute keychain as an anniversary gift. Not just any keychains… but pudgy penguin keychains!
Of course here is a small magnet in each so that they stick together when close by each other. I first saw pudgy penguin (or pengu) on WhatsApp. There are a lot of pengu gifs to choose from, with one featuring just about every mood or moment you can think of. Marco, Roger and I send each other a lot of pengu gifs!
In other news:
- the oliebollen stand on the Grote Marktstraat (not far from the central library) is opening tomorrow – crazy! It is there about 25% of the year now. It’s not a bad thing, mind you. Just weird when we had a few days of 25 degrees Celsius (77F). As indebuurt.nl noted.
- I was sad to hear that the Dutch writer and cabaret Paulien Cornelisse passed away today. She loved the Dutch language. One of her more well-known books was “Taal is zeg maar echt mijn ding” (or “Language is, like, really my thing”) and the podcasts she worked on like Echt gebeurd and De verwarde cavia.
- The kite festival was held last weekend in Scheveningen (after a two year hiatus). Check out some cool photos from indebuurt.nl.
