Stroopwafels as far as the eye could see (Or: By Gouda Station)

Stroopwafels (literally: syrup waffles) are a Dutch sweet treat first invented in Gouda. The same city where Gouda cheese comes from, in case you’re wondering.

Marco was recently in Gouda and he noticed a very interesting option that train passengers have – they can get fresh stroopwafel straight out of the wall!

It’s kind of hard to see, but you can walk into the small space to see the various options available for purchase.

And here’s a look at one of the screens:

Along with stroopwafels (and stroopwafel pieces!), you can also buy keychains and coasters. Apparently this self-serve dispenser opened in February of last year. if you’re in Gouda near the station, check it out.
