Yesterday Human Resources started emailing our library all of the resumes for my position. Yeesh.
Each set (mostly of 2) is one person, so I had received 13 applications at the time. Shortly after I left work to go home, 5 more arrived. Looking over them definitely made me realize I now known what it is like to be on the other side of the interviewing table (however briefly):
If x is a major component of the job advertisement, I would really like it to appear in the resume, and perhaps the cover letter. But if it’s only in the cover letter, you should state how long you have been doing x. Details, people! I need details!
