Marco recently went on a boys’ trip to London. He will of course say the highlight was seeing Leslie Odom Jr. reprise his role in Hamilton on West End. Or maybe saying Death Note musical…
I would say no, the highlight was him visiting the Ted Lasso store in Richmond and getting some merch.
If you’ve never seen the Apple+ TV show, it stars Jason Sudeikis as an American NFL coach who moves to London to teach a soccer team (=football if you’re not American). It’s a great feel good show, all the better for its first season dropping right around when Covid first hit in the summer of 2020, when we could all use a bit of feel good moments.
The mug on the left was the mug Marco bought me, which says ‘biscuits with the boss’. The boss of the football team has nefarious intentions, but he eventually wins her over. One of the ways he does it is with homemade biscuits (=cookies) he makes every morning for her. She dislikes him but is addicted to the biscuits.
Marco also got a box of the biscuits, which are really just shortbread cookies.
Marco got the other mug on the right for himself, since he doesn’t drink tea as often. In the show, Ted calls tea “garbage water”, which I found hilarious.
